TECHNIQUE CLASSES
CPYB:
The CPYB class refers to our Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet inspired training class. This is an additional technique class offered to students who are excelling in their ballet studies and are ready for more focused training. The CPYB class is non-syllabus-based and emphasizes clean technique, strength, and musicality. It’s a great way for dancers to build a stronger foundation and accelerate their progress. While optional, it is highly recommended for students considering exams or more serious ballet training.
Beginner = Gr 1+ / ages 7+, Intermediate = Gr 3+ / ages 9+, Advanced = Gr 5+ / ages 11+
Pas De Deux:
The Pas de Deux class focuses on the art of ballet partnering. Dancers will work in pairs, building on foundational ballet technique while developing the skills necessary for effective collaboration. The class will progress from technical fundamentals to the expressive and performance aspects of partnering.
Turns & Jumps:
A Jazz Technique class focused on teaching the foundational and advanced turns and jumps used in jazz dance. This style of class emphasizes clean technique, control, strength, and performance quality, all within the context of jazz dance’s energetic and expressive style.
Beginner = Spotlight, Pearl, and Ruby. Intermediate = Ruby, Emerald, Topaz and up. Advanced = Emerald, Topaz, Sapphire, and Diamond.
Acro Tech & Tumbling:
This is an acro based technique class. Where the foundation of tumbling and more acro skills will be explored and strengthened. This class does not perform in the year-end recital.
