Mia Kerton-Sanker:

Hello everyone, I am Miss Mia, and here is a little about me.
I have been dancing at Langley Dance Academy since I was 3.5 years old, my mom took me to my first ballet class, and I would not let go of her leg. Once I did, I never stopped. I would keep going to classes and adding more and more. Everyone believed I would become a famous ballerina, but I found a passion for Hip Hop. I have been dancing for more than 13 years.

I am a competitive senior dancer and LDA and have won numerous awards, and medals and even gone to provincials with my teammates. I dance and teach many different styles of dance including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Hip Hop. I have been teaching summer camps and assisting classes throughout the years, and I’m excited to be teaching my own classes as well.

I love to teach my students and be a person they can trust; I also love seeing them in those tiny little costumes. My dream used to be a professional dancer, but dreams can change. My new dream is to see my students go out on the stage and smile. The
happiness of seeing mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles. Coming off stage and saying “Miss Mia, I saw my mom” brings me so much joy, because I did that when I
was a kid. I want kids to love dance. That’s my job, I hope that I can bring a smile to
your child’s face as well.
