Heidi Whelton:
Heidi fell in love with dance at the age of 8 years old, beginning her dance journey with Langley Dance Academy. She started her training in ballet and jazz, continuously adding different genres throughout her years with LDA. Heidi’s passion for dance grew very quickly, starting competitive dance only a year after her first season.
Today, Heidi trains in both tap and musical theatre, genres that she very quickly found a deep passion for. Through her years of training, she has developed a love for performing, teamwork, and personal growth, while learning from inspiring instructors and peers who have helped shape her as both a dancer and leader. Having looked up to her own teachers throughout her dance journey, Heidi discovered a passion for mentoring young dancers and creating the same positive experience that inspired her.
Heidi is so excited to bring the same joy to young dancers that was brought to her. She strives to be an inspiring, positive, and joyful addition to the LDA team and provide dancers with a safe, fun, and supportive space. She aims to make an extraordinary impact on the next generation of young dancers, and become a teacher who makes every student feel valued.
