Alicia Penny: 

Alicia brings a blend of professionalism, experience, and genuine care to every class she teaches. She is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Alicia completed the RAD’s Certificate in Ballet Teachings Studies and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Business Administration receiving Distinction.

Alicia is a Licentiate Member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) in Stage (Tap), Ballet and Modern. She participated in the Association of International Dance Teachers Modern Examinations and completed her AIDT Gold Higher Tap Examination receiving Honours with Distinction at age 15.

Alicia participates in professional development throughout the year. She emphasizes education from dance physios allowing her to stay relevant with the safest and most effective ways to improve dancer training: warm up habits, strength and preparation for pointe work, and flexibility.

As a student Alicia competed in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Stage, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and Latin. This diverse background gives her the ability to connect with dancers of all interests. Alicia’s most memorable performance experiences include Disneyland, California Adventure Park, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and the 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies.
