Q. What should my child wear to class and is there a dress code?
A. LDA expects all dancers to come to class prepared and in proper dance attire with clothing that is form fitting so that instructors can see your child’s alignment and how their muscles are working. Please ensure hair is tied up and off of the face.
Q. Where do I buy dancewear?
A. Dancewear for Sweet Peas, Pre-Primary, and Primary Ballet Classes may be purchased at Reception at LDA. Graded Ballet bodysuits will be ordered for each child upon registration (Grade 1-5 Ballet). All other classes may purchase their own dancewear outside of LDA. The Dance Box and Limbers are great places in Langley and Surrey that offer an array of clothing options. Alternatively, you may have your own tank tops, capris, or other dance clothes you wish to wear. For class specific dress code, please refer to the Class Registration pages.
Q. Where do I buy dance shoes?
A. The Dance Box in Langley and Limbers in Surrey specialize in ensuring your child has the right shoe for their dance class. We ask all female ballet dancers to wear pink leather ballet slippers and for males to wear white ballet slippers. For Jazz, black leather jazz shoes are required. Hip Hop requires clean inside shoes (sneakers). For Tap, please pick tap shoes with proper silver taps on the bottom, black in colour.
Q. I have forgotten an important date in the dance season – where can I find upcoming information?
A. LDA’s Upcoming Events are always listed in the Parent Portal
Q. Can I bring food and snacks to LDA?
A. Yes, snacks and water are encouraged for dancers between classes. Please note and observe that some dancers have serious allergies and our studio is a nut-free studio.
Q. Is it too late to register for the dance season?
A. LDA accepts registration for the September to June dance year through until March 1st each season. Some classes fill up quickly and some classes may have restricted registration dates. If you have any questions concerning the availability of a specific class, please contact us at email@example.com.
Q. Is a refund issued if a student misses or drops a class?
A. LDA does not refund for classes that your child has missed. Should it be necessary for your child to discontinue a class, written email notification must be received by LDA 30 days in advance of your child’s last class. Costume fees are non-refundable after February 1st for all rec classes.
Q. How do I pay my fees?
A. Online through the Parent Portal is the easiest way! We accept Mastercard, Visa, Amex, and Visa Debit through the Portal. Post-dated cheques are also accepted at Reception.
